Artifact of completion for Goal #1: This artifact is a screenshot of the Instagram page for the Outliers. When I started at this company there were 250 followers and by the time I was done with my internship there were over 700. After we had a special event at a school or collaborated with a new entity we would get a new wave of followers and we were able to spread the word about what the Outliers were doing long after the event was over. #2- Build connections with other sports event planners or people holding similar positions to what I did in order to find a job after the internship. Artifact of completion for Goal #2: This artifact is actually not a physical one that I can show on my portfolio but rather a experience that I had while working with the team. I went with the team to Texas for their final games and one of my assistant coaches used to work with this team in Texas so he knew many of the staff members there. One of his closest friends on that team held the same position that I did on the Texas team. I had the opportunity to talk to her for around a hour and ask her all about her experience with a larger and more successful team. She told me she worked almost 50 hours a week and is at the rink more than her own home some weeks. She has many more responsibilities than me and she is the only one does them. She really gets no help and to me it didn't seem like she enjoyed her job that much. Talking to her really made me think if this is something that I wanted to do as a career and I think that having the opportunity to talk and ask her all these questions gave me a better understanding of what I want to do with my degree that is why I think this artifact is important to look at because I was able to meet someone with the same title as me but different and more intense responsibilities. It was eye opening and really appreciate the opportunity to talk to someone like her again. |
